Molly's Baby Shower

Saturday was Molly, my sis-n-laws baby shower. She let me throw her a baby shower because I wanted to be the first to ask and I liked the chance of doing something I haven't done before. I also thought it would be fun and nice for them. I got some good games off of the internet and had some wonderful help with the food from my mother-in-law Janet and lizzy another sis-in-law. Thankfully I had decorated for it the night before because I was 10 min late to the only baby shower I ever planned. That was a little embarressing but I couldn't help it. The babysitter was late. I was a little late my self in being ready too. Even though I was late getting there

Molly got some great gifts. The last one that she got was a most beautiful dress with a cute sun hat. Very cute, I think they will be so excited when their little girl is able to wear it.

I made two cakes for the shower. This one was pretty much an accident. I thought it was going to be Mousse as a frosting but it was a cream cheese mousse as a whole cake. Well I went ahead and made it any way and it set in the fridge over night to harden. When I brought it out right before the party I accidentally let the pan sit in the hot water for too long and it melted the surface of of the mousse. It was all drippy when the pan came off so I had to use a pastry brush to wipe it down. Then came the frosting. It really was a simple cake. I'm glad I tryed it.

This was the cake that I was making frosting for and it turned into a full cake. I had to make my regular cake frosting for this. I frosted it pretty late at night so I didn't have time to do what I wanted with it. It could have looked a lot better but I like it any way. I got the pan mold from Micheals and I'm happy with the design. Good enough for me.

This is the present that I made for Molly. It is a diaper cake and I like this one as well. My fingers got pretty sore while putting rubber hair bands arounf all of those but it was worth it. I like that final product and I hope she did too.
