Easter 2009

Easter was a fun time. We had an Easter party the Saturday before and it was great because we got to have lunch and the kids loved the egg hunt and it ended with cotton candy for all(since the eggs we filled with non candy treats). We then had a great time at grandma's house. We had dinner there and a huge egg hunt for them, where the all came away with a large amount of treats. IT made them very happy.

Easy Easter cake

I really like making cakes now. I get excited about doing something different each time. I am not incredibly creative but I have time to work on that. I made this cake for the Easter party for preschool on Wednesday. After using some premade frosting on the last cake I did, I realized that the taste of it was not that great so if I have that time I will probably make my own frosting with each. This cake was really simple. I used a design triangle to make the line along the sides of the cake, added a decorative boarder and some simple dot flowers. Good enough for a nights work.

Cereal Sale

The great cereal sales have changed me. Through these wonderful deals I have discovered a new desire to buy things cheap and also to start learning how to use coupons. I have never been a good shopper and I've always been an over spender. I grew to hate shopping trips because I new that when I would get home, I would be in trouble for the amount that ended up on the receipt.

It wasn't until last year when there was a wonderful deal on cereal that this new desire started to open up. I was amazed at how much I got for so little and all it was was cereal.

It took me a while of watching other people getting great deals and hearing about the new craze in couponing that I decided I wanted to take it further. All of a sudden one day after reading an article in the newspaper about the krazycouponlady and the athriftymom.com realized I could be apart of this in world.

I started checking these ladies websites out and I was amazed at what I saw. I was also jealous. I wanted in on the great buys they were getting.

I was going to put a coupon binder together to start up on everything and then I got lazy. I bought a coupon binder online instead. I spent too much but it did get me going. I also signed up for the newspaper deal that athriftymom has set up to receive 4 papers and here I am. I am trying to be the next coupon lady. I attempts that I have made have not turned out well each time but I know I just have to learn the process.

I am back to another cereal sale and it really keeps that excitment going.

I got 46 boxes of cereal for $22.41 and I saved $201.34

That felt really great to me.

They were small boxes so they fit into a pretty small area but they are some of the best cereals out there.

Lilly's gymnastics class

This is Lilly's new gymnastics class. She goes on thursday mornings just until the end of April. I wish that we could keep her in it longer but the funds don't support it right now. I did want to give her a chance to do something special. It has always been Cameron doing the preschool thing and hanging out with friends while Miah got a lot of attention because she was the baby. Lilly has been pretty jealous sometimes. I hope that she can enjoy this or find something else that she does enjoy.

In this class there are three other boys and no girls except for her. Two of the boys were very disruptive during the class so they weren't able to even do much considering the class is only a half hour long. I am thinking of putting her in a different class time because it really was ridiculous how long it took to get the boys attention.

Lilly looks pretty board at the end of the video walking back to the class. They just were not very active in doing things. Hopefully next class will be much better.

New games are fun

I finaly gave in to the boardom and we went to the store and picked up a couple of games. Cameron is a gameoholic and we just do not have many board games. This game is called Perfection and I thought it would be good for all the kids to get better at shape recognision and cordination. It is even good for Miah.
