Memories

I've been needing to caught up on some things. The pictures are not in a very good order. It is starting from most recent to just before Halloween stuff.

So last weekend I went with my mother to Salt Lake City for a convention and doctors appointment that she had. We had lots of fun. It was really cold that weekend but the girls managed to do some things they really enjoyed.

This is at the very end of the trip right when we got the kids in the car ready for our 5 1/2 hour drive back to Boise.

I wanted to snap a picture of the hotel before we left. It was really pretty there. It is called The Perry Hotel and it was built in 1910. Very old antique beauty. They tried bringing the vintage charm and did a good job I think.

I took this picture on the train as we waited for our stop. It is nice that it is free to go about downtown. The parking garage where we parked was to far from the Gateway Mall where we went. I don't know why I didn't park closer but I just get so flustered in downtown areas with all the one way streets and trying to find where I'm going, I just give up. This was on our way back to the parking garage.

So to take up loads of time that we would have just by ourselves, I took the girls to the Kids Discovery Center. It was great, except for the price. It was $8.50 per child and adult, now come on the adults just stand there. they don't play, they sit and it is still $8.50. It would have cost us 26 something but on a visit to another hotel I found coupons that were $2 off and I got three of those. So it was only $20.

We spent almost 4 hours here. I hung around while Lilly was in heaven, running to the house just her size with all the normal things in kid size. Then there was a smaller kid area that Miah enjoyed, especially the water area where they could make little balls float down. She did get wet. Lilly also loved the kid size grocery store. Set up just like a normal grocery store where they could fill up their carts with play food and have a blast.

Miah took a turn in the Police car, very fitting for daddy.

This was Lilly and Miah in the bottom one waiting for the train. This was right before a snow storm hit. When we got off the train at the Gateway was exactly when it got back. We had to walk with our heads down barely able to see, trying to get to a place to eat before the Discovery center. Miah and Lilly's hands were freezing cold and they were crying having to go through that.

Hanging around the temple.

In the hall way next to our room.

This was our hotel room. It was pretty and roomy for the kids. The beds were very nice with down pillows and posture pedique mattresses. It did not help that Miah took a crayon and wrote scribbles all of the comforter. They made some big messes there.

This was Halloween at Grandma H's. Lilly got into Grandmas jewelry in the top photo. That is her favorite thing.

We always have to get a group pic of the family with the costumes. Jeremy was a scary Mime, Molly was a cat and there little baby was the mouse. I was nothing, Miah was a princess, Lilly a witch, Cameron batman, Thomas was Mario, Lizzy was an angel, and Grandma was a cat.

Daddy helped Miah out alot by holding her while walking to each house. Just too much walking for that little squirt.

This is when we first started the trick or treating. The kids were very enthusiastic.

A random day snapping a picture with my baby girl.

Camerons birthday party turned out well. We played hide and go seek in the dark, Simon says and something else that I cannot remember. Then we has cake and ice cream, which the kids only ate the ice cream even though I worried all day over getting it finished and actually didn't finish it until the kids ate their pizza during the party. I should have left more time for decorating but I had too many things to do during the day.

Look at those crazy boys. They were very funny.

Like I said, I didn't have a lot of time to decorate.

This was the night before Jeff hand to leave for the MTC. He is looking so much older I can't believe it. Cameron will be 8 around the time he gets back. It is weird to think of Cameron being that old.
Another group pic. I look funny, I guess my hair did not look as cute as I thought it did.

This was Miah at the Discovery Center. They has this ball area and she would lift up the door to it and pop a ball inside with air blowing really fast in her face. She is working on the sharing thing.

Memorial Day Weekend

I think I am late at getting most things up now a days.

During Memorial Day Weekend actually just the Sunday we went up to a camping area where the in-laws were just passed Cascade. It was nice to get out and take a drive then hanging out with the family.

We roasted marshmellows and ate smores

We took a walk out to the dock

The water looked nice and it was beautiful. I had to get a picture with the kids and the mountain.

We enjoyed having cake to celebrate Molly's(my sis-in-law) birthday.

It was a little chilly and a bit rainy and stormy but nothing beats being with your family enjoying something different and making memories.

Passed Due on Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a good day. I was so happy that I had some special tuffles to give out to all of ladies in the family. I have fun making these even though it took until 2:00am to have every thing finished and cleaned up. My sister Corin is really creative. She made little wrappers out of tin foil for the truffles by using a plastic liter soda pop lid and forming the tin foil around it. Then since we did not have any ribbon her idea was to use some of my extra pink material and cut it into strips. The plates turned out pretty cute I thought.

As far as the whole Mother's Day experience it was O.K. I was pretty emotional and was really picky over some things with Doug, and then at the Mother's Day dinner with the fam my sis Katie wripped off part of my eyebrow with the waxing stuff she brought. Don't worry Katie I really wasn't mad at you. Eyebrows do grow back, I was just already having some selfesteam issues that night.

Well, it is nice to have holidays come and it is also nice to see them go. I just need to figure out what I am going to do for Father's Day now.

Easter 2009

Easter was a fun time. We had an Easter party the Saturday before and it was great because we got to have lunch and the kids loved the egg hunt and it ended with cotton candy for all(since the eggs we filled with non candy treats). We then had a great time at grandma's house. We had dinner there and a huge egg hunt for them, where the all came away with a large amount of treats. IT made them very happy.

Cameron loves treats.

This was right after the egg hunt.

Miah was really getting into it. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa H.

Christmas 2008

What a wonderful time of year and here, it is already gone. With sales going on and me wanting to spend money left and right. With Doug getting upset every time he heard the I bought something new. Oh, what emothions go on through this wonder season.

Well shopping was not the only thing I thought about. I know that it is a time to be thankful for what you have, a time to do service of others and a time to think about the great birth of our amazing brother, our Savior Jesus Christ. It is a time to think about His life and the example he was and then to thinkof his sacrifice he made for us.

Yes, I did think of all those things. I am thankful for all that I and myfamily has been blessed with.

Christmas eve Doug had to work and  I went to my parents house to hang out for the night. We ate food and played game. The kids got to play wiht their cousins and over all it was an enjoyable time. Then the battery in Doug's car died so I had to go over to the Walmart where he was working and he jumped the battery. It was probably 10:15 by then. Doug was talking to the kids and told them that we had better get home fast before santa passes by our house. "Santa will skip our house if you are not in bed," he told them.

So we got home and Cameron raced in the house. I had to grab things from the car and while I was doing that Cameron grabed the plate of fudge and a couple cookies. He found some paper and a pencil and wrote "FORSADU. " And put a box around the Words. to highlight them. Then he grabbed a cup and filled it with water and almost forgot the fork for the fudge.

I was soo impressed. I did not say one word, just watched.

Such a funny kid.

Then that night I waited and watched Pride and Prejudice. A good night for me.

The next morning we opened presents and ate french toast for breakfast. We spent the rest of the day with family.

Halloween

Halloween
- Mary Jane Carr

Witches
flying past on broomsticks,
Black cats leaping here and there,
White-robed spooks on every corner,
Mournful moaning in the air,

Goblins peering out of windows,
Spirit-things that
rap and run-
But don't be scared-it's just October,
Having one last hour of fun!

Halloween is always a fun time for us. Doug just loves those scary movies and I love dressing up the kids. I was surprised that by 6:30 that night no one had come trick or treating to our house.

We left and went to what we thought was Doug's families' trunk or treat. We walk around and the kids got some candy until Doug realized that he did not recognize anyone. So we went for grandmas house instead. Grandma H always has a wonderfully scary Halloween party. She fixes up her house with ghosts and spiderwebs, makes rootbear, donuts, pigs in a blanket and pizza, and she dresses up in some kind of festive outfit. Halloween is really one of their favorite holidays.

This is from top across to bottom: Sarah, Jeremy, Lilly, Jeff, and Cameron. Wow Jeremy looks really good in this picture, just like an old man. Jeff I think ate off someone else's leg. Cameron's doing the batman pose and lilly is just trying to be cute. Sarah really rocked the fro and later had changed the wig which made her look like a hooker. All great costumes. Loved them. And we had fun.

There were not a lot of trick or treaters out around their house either. It felt so good outside, so for the first time, Doug and I took all the kids trick or treating and walked around the block with them. Usually I let doug take them because it is normally so cold out. Lilly would run up to each house and pound on the door. When someone would open up Lilly would poke her head inside and look around the house before putting her pumkin basket in the air to catch the candy.

We tryed going to the houses that seemed no one else was going to and it worked out. The kids completely filled up their baskets and by the end Lilly just could not walk any further and she could barely hold up her pumkin.

Now there is too much candy in the house and I fear for my overindulgence. The candy tax always takes over and I'm sure that the candy will be gone in the next month or two. I really try to not buy much candy and treats because I seem to eat them more than the kids do. So I will have to find a hiding spot to get them out of sight so that it won't be as tempting.

Cameron will probably eat all the chocolate out of his basket and Lilly's. He is a choco holic. I will have to keep the candy out of his way too.

We really do enjoy Halloween though and it was a good night.

Doug borrowed this wig and glasses from Sarah. He looks pretty goofy.

Miah just could not stand him wearing this. She would hide her face and would not allow him to touch her. Miah just wanted everyone else to hold her except Doug.

Miah was really cute in this monster costume because she would walk up to people's doors with her ears flapping up and down while her tail would wag side to side.

This was before going to the trunk or treat last Saturday. Jeremy and Molly came with us and the kids were pretty excited. Jeremy did the make-up on them because I was running late on making the taco soup for the soup feed.

This was the serious pose

And then there was the happy pose.

Now Halloween is over and November is going to be a busy month. More to look forward to.
