Getting to know you

What were you doing 10yrs ago(April 1998)?

I think I was in 7th grade. In April of that year I had just tryed out for track. My try outs went fine and I was going to do the high Jump. I later decided to not to be involved with track and dropped out before it really got going. I wish I would have continued though. I was only in 7th grade because I was held back a year when I was in second grade. My Junior year of high school I completed all the credits I needed to be finished with highschool and the following fall I went to BSU. That semester I meet my husband Doug. We hung out a lot and got married the next semester in feb. I was supposed to be in my senior year of highschool during that time. I did not stay friends with the friends I had in highschool because our lives were so different. That part kinda stinks. My life has changed so much since then. I can't believe that in 10 years I finished middle school, high school, college even though it wasn't much, married, and had three kids. That has gone by fast.

Five things on your to-do-list today.

I have to do the dishes, the laundry, deep clean the bathrooms, clean up the poop in the back yard. Exercise and make sure I get my reading in. I know that that was six but there is always more.

Snacks you enjoy.

I enjoy eating cereal as a snack, cottage cheese and peaches, strawberry protein shake, anything sweet( which is why I try not to have them around) and crasins(its my new thing).

Things you would do if you were a millionaire:

If I were a millionaire I would payoff all my debt, have a really good emergency plan, buy a big house, pay off highest bills for my family, help those I knew were struggling, invest, and go on a cruise and travel some more.

Three of your bad habits:

I get really lazy sometimes.
Not completeing things or seeing them through to the end( Not all things but some).
I will sometimes let the trash pile up to over following and let it sit there for several days. I just don't bother with taking the trash out and let it stink up the closet it is in. I know thats gross.
I'm sure Doug could add many more to this pile.

Five places you have lived.

Born in Huston, Tx
Lived in Charlotte, NC till I was 8 years old
Lived in Boise, Idaho for a couple of years
Moved to Meridian till I was married
Lived back in boise for a year and a half then moved to Nampa, Id where we have lived for almost four years.

Five jobs you have had.

Started training to be a waitress at Rock around the clock only a couple of months. Caregiver at Healthy beginnings childcare. I did drug tests(inserted test strips into peoples pee) at Minert and Associates and did filing there. I actually really liked that job. Did filing with S&H inc., they were owners of lots of KFC's. Then I worked as a dental assistant at Silverstone Family dental. I really enjoyed that too.

Five things people don't know about you.

I recently wanted to become a personal trainer.
I always think I am not good enough or I don't try hard enough.
I'm always worried if I will be a good enough mother.
I know this is super weird but I have a fear of at some point being over come by an evil spirit.
I was Miss West Meridian Idaho for a year and went to Orange County, CA for the Miss America pageant. The trip that my mom and I went on down there was one of the most fun times in my life. The best trip ever.

Tag back Man Tag

So I guess I deserve to be tagged back since I started it. We'll see if mom actually does it.
I took this tag from my friend Holly. I thought it was really cute and fun things to know.

How long have you been married? We have been married for just over 5 years. I can't believe it has been that long. And then sometimes it feels like we've been together forever.
How long did you date? We dated for a month and a half, then we were engaged for 2 1/2 months followed by our wedding with a dual reception. My sister Corin was married the day before us and we did the reception together. We had a really good turn out.
Who eats more sweets? Definitely me. I don't know why I can't keep my hands off that stuff. Doug really does care about the sweets. He is all about the regular food. I wish I didn't want the sweets as much as I do.
Who said I love you first? He did. He told me that he used to go home at night and think, "I say I Love You all the time and she just looks at me." I guess I had a hard time saying it and didn't want to say it until it was true.
How old is he? He is 26 and I'm 24.
Who is taller? He is. I always thought it would be weird if I would have married someone shorter than me. Thankfully I did not.
Who is smarter? He is. He laughs at me all the time because I am like my mother. I can be very forgetful and hard of hearing sometimes. Its not my fault. I was born this way. I hate that part about me. The schooling I've had does not mean a whole lot right now. I can't remember most of it. Not to bash on my mom though. She has many more good things about her than bad. I love her.
Who can sing better? I think I can though Doug can hold a note.
Who does the laundry? I do most definitely. He helps out around the house every once and a while but will almost never do the laundry or the dishes.
Who pays the bills? We both do but he has more control over the finances.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.
Who mows the lawn? He does. I have no desire to mow the lawn.
Who cooks dinner? I do. Almost everytime he cooks dinner it is roman noodles.
Who drives? Unless he is sick or super tired he does.
Who is more stubborn? He is, He Is, HE IS. When we fight it is usually me that just gives in and takes the blame. I feel like it is always me in trouble because of it. He very good at talking himself out of trouble.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me first but it was really awkward. I had a hard time with all of that stuff. It wasn't the greatest kiss too, though we have forever to work on it. It has gotten way better.
Who asked who out? Our first date was a blind date. Doug says that I absolutely was not happy when I saw him and I really didn't talk to him much through the date. I remember I told Corin after the date that I did not like guys with red hair and freckles. That obviously changed.
Who proposed? He did. He asked me a couple weeks before hand to make sure that I would say yes though. So I knew it was coming. He could have tryed a little hard to make the proposal a bit more interesting.
Who has more siblings? He does. There are 8 children in his family and 5 in mine.
Who wheres the pants? He does. I am getting better at letting my voice be heard.

So much has changed in these five years that we have been married. We have a wonderful life with the greatest kids ever. He really works hard to take care of his family and is the best dad. The kids play and jump on him almost ever other day. He still makes me laugh all the time and knows something to say about ever subject. He is a great person and I love him so much.

This is the most recent picture of us together. We look huge because of the humongous and thick, may I add, snow suits :). This is during our anniversary festivities.
