Getting closer to Christmas

I like to start getting ideas for Christmas a little early on. I wish I could buy stuff throughout the year to get them when they are on sale and the best prices but that is not my thing and I don't have the money for that. Christmas is growing ever closer and for my in laws we are doing a homemade gift exchange. Me, I not so good at creativity. I wish I was, but not so much. So I am asking anyone out there if you have any good ideas for home made Christmas gifts. I do like getting things that they will actually use or would put up in their home. I like things with a purpose. So if you got any ideas, leave a comment. I could really use it, it would be nice to start preparing now!

Hey there, something that I do every year is make a wooden decoration for my mom. Last year I made her a really cute snow man that is really inexpensive...just takes some wood from lowes and some paint and whatever else you want to use. This year I am making wooken trees that light up, again just wood and paint and lights! I can e-mail you pictures of them if you want for ideas they are really cute and I even make one for myself!

My brother and his wife collect ornaments for each year. This year I would like to do one for my in-laws. At Kiddie Kandids you can have one made with a picture and text on it. The sitting is free and they take some awesome pictures. The ornament is a little spendy, but I think they are priceless.

Also, one thing I have haning in my house is a big picture frame that says, "FAMILY" in the middle with ten slots around it. It's perfect for my hubby's side of the family since there are ten kids. We have a different family in each slot and then our family picture hangs above it. It might be nice to find something like that. I found the frame at Target for pretty inexpensive.

Good luck!

Hey Sherri! Love your blog! Who do you have for Christmas? Do you know? I have come across SO many fun homemade ideas and I'd love to share! Let me know if it's a girl or a boy and I'll email some to you! And I'm with you, I love getting a head start- we have Christmas with my family at Thanksgiving this year and I've already got the gifts wrapped! Trying to get ready for this bundle of joy that will take up all my time in a few weeks! :)
