Memories

My friend had this on her blog and I wanted to try too.

Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you (and if this isn't on there...I'll assume you're a procrastinator like me and will check back later!)

Okay, this sounds fun. I have a pictuce of you when you were a toddler, of hummmmmm, about 2 years old. It was the time of the "Cabbage Patch Kids." For Halloween I decided to dress you up as a "Cabbage Patch Kid." I worked really hard and made a wig out of yarn, with two great big pig tails. It was pretty difficult to sew it all together in such a way that it would stretch and fit you.

I found a cute dress, white stockings and black patten leather shoes. I put on lots of eye make up and bright red cheeks. You really looked cute and doll like.

I went to the older kids school Halloween party early, I was one of the helpers. About 1/2 though the party, when it was really crowded, Dad showed up with you. He came walking in the side door with you sitting on his arm.

You were being very quiet, and not moving. Suddenly I heard a cry, "It's alive." All of there ladies started laughing and talking all at once.

When I looked up, Dad had a shocked look on his face. As you all know Dad hates attenting, and boy was he getting it there. The crowd parted like the parting of the red sea, everyone staring at him and you. Some would reach out and touch you just to make sure you were really alive. Several were taking pictures of them.

Pretty much overwhelmed Dad, he had me hold you as soon and things settled down. But,you really made a big splash that night. It was great fun and you had a great time.

I still like thinking back over that. Love ya hon.

So Dad wanted to leave a memory also:

So Dad wanted to use the Halloween story also, told him that he would have to use another one, so here we go. "That's my story."

Sherri can be very competitive when she wants to be. One year when she played basketball (loved her games) she was playing against Cortney's team (Nampa). It was the funnest thing, her and Cortney got into it. Not into a fist fight, but he one-on-one competition left the rest of the team and coaches confused.

It was like there was no one else on the court. They would run and dive and scratch for the ball.

You couldn't tell that they were cousins and best friends, except for the smile that was on both of their faces. They were getting a kick out of it. I don't remember who won but it was a tie between those to.

The parent of both got a real kick out of watching them play. We understood what was going on, the rest were confused. We laughed and laughted and it was the best game ever. Thanks for the fun. DAD

I haven't known you that long but I remember when I first moved into the area and we were at church. You were one of the first people to come and say hello to me in Relief Society and I knew right away that I liked you!

Me too Sherri. You were one of the first to say hello and I really appreciated that, too. I also remember the first time I saw the inside of your house and wishing I could decorate like you. Too cute.

I'll have to do this as I did Mom's.
I'm not great at remembering details.

I remember driving all night to Las Vegas with you. We did some crazy dumb stuff that I am not about to reveal online. (Nothing horrible, just embarrassing.)

I remember talking to you one night after you had a hard day at school. You confided in me and all I could think was that you were a very mature young woman...too mature for high school! I also remember being your house with Lucinda (way back when) and we both agreed that you were strikingly beautiful and predicted you wouldn't last long on the "single" list. Guess we were right!

When you and Doug got engaged I was so happy for you, but so jealous I didn't have my own man to hug and kiss! (That is more me revealing myself than a memory. I suck at this.)

We drove up to McCall to a cabin with Delmar right after J got home. You poor guys had to share a room with us. Crying K all night long. You must've really hated us. Sorry.

You were pretty pregnant and came and helped paint our house when we were building it. It was so hot and miserable, but there was Sherri standing on a bucket with her little belly on the roof painting away. You are GOOD, girl!

Well, now that you know what a horrible memory I have, I just want you to know that I think you are an incredible person. You have made efforts to be a part of our busy life and keep in contact so we don't feel so far away. You are one awesome lady and I love you!
